London

Just considering what London means to me.
When I lived in the midalnds (and I was oh so much younger) it seemed a long way away....I also grew up in countryside so cities as big as London were completely different to anything I had experienced...even Leicester was small by comparison!
After moving south I made more frequent journeys into London - sightseeing being the main appeal and having a night out....
Whilst working in London I had to commute across town and I can't say it was an enjoyable experience. However, I have always thought that the architectural mix, rich historical links, diverse cultural and entertainment offerings in addition to the people who live and visit London make this city unique in comparision to other cities within the UK. Am I wrong? Do other cities have just as much diversity as London? Admittedly I have not really spent as much time anywhere else. Having said all this, I prefer the countryside and enjoy London more when I visit it and meet is on my terms.
